BUT I CAN NOT SEE!

Team Member speakers

"The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee and found Philip and said, 'Follow me'." John 1:43 (NIV)

Reading:

Lighting a small circle in front of our feet, the lantern gave us security and address only with sufficient illuminated area to give our next step while Rose and I walked before dawn. Over time, the anxiety became comfortable as we talked the day he was to begin. We knew light to lead us in the right direction. All we had to do was take the next step ...

take the next step is something that Jesus recommended long ago. "Come and see." "Follow me." These are the words of Jesus to his disciples when he called them. Not sat down and showed them what would happen in the next three years. He knew it was going to be overwhelming, even to change their mind. He decided to forward them simple. "Follow me" was all he said. must take the next step ...

As a teenager, I wanted to know my future. I be all my dreams come true? What college should I go? Will I work in a church with a pastor marry me? Will I live in Iowa near my family? Jesus knew the answer to those questions from the beginning. Do not go to college. I do not work in a church and I married a pastor. He knew. In their wisdom, He chose to reveal just enough light to take the next step.

Sometimes I realize that I fall on my desire to see the future. I'm drowning in my fears and concerns. Concerns about my career: I will continue taking this work in ten years? Concerns Mom: Do my children marry spouses who have a passion for Jesus? Concerns marriage: My husband and I enjoy a long retirement together? With my next step, I can turn around topics that do not even have anything to do with this day.

Jesus knows. He knows what answers are "yes" and which will be "no." He know when and where reveal what my next step. My role consists simply obey and take that next step.

When I was younger I did not understand that the times when He said "no" actually were the steps that I stood to his wonderful "yes." Learned in the darkness that whenever I step out in obedience, followed by blessings. I also had to learn that even those roads that were causing pain in the process. Were steps the path you chose obedience over the worry, fear and control.
Now, more than fear and doubt come to the surface during the dark trying to silence the conjecture. I remember the words that Jesus said "Follow me" and flashing back to the path in the dim light of the short distance and just give the next step ... a step of trust. I asked him what I should do just now. Expressing concern neglect my concerns to Jesus and trusting in His ability to guide each of my next steps.

Dear Lord, the darkness can be scary. Jesus, sometimes my ability to trust seems to be much smaller that the step I take. Help me to create a history with you. A history of ever seeing this will help me to trust you again and again. That's what I want. I trust in You. In Jesus' name, Amen .
